Giro Abruzzo Cycling + Sportive Event

31st – 7th June 2026

Why Visit Abruzzo, Italy โ€” A Cyclistโ€™s Hidden Paradise

Abruzzo sits parallel to Rome on Italyโ€™s east coast and is known as the greenest region in Europe. Itโ€™s also one of the countryโ€™s most underrated yet spectacular cycling destinations, offering a rare blend of untouched nature, dramatic climbs, and serene coastal roads.

What makes Abruzzo truly special is its wild, pristine landscape. The region is home to three national parks and a major nature reserve, including the iconic Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park. Here, the Gran Sasso peaks rise to nearly 3,000 meters, and the breathtaking Campo Imperatore โ€” known as Italyโ€™s Little Tibet โ€” is a must-see. And the best way to experience it? On a bike, of course.

With quiet, well-kept roads and almost no mass tourism, Abruzzo is a dream for cyclists of all levels. Tackle epic climbs in the mountains or enjoy relaxed rides along the coastline โ€” either way, this region delivers unforgettable views and pure Italian charm.
